Christmas
I am very ready for Christmas this year. Mostly because I am going to Branson, MO. That should be really fun because my entire family is going and that is always really interesting. I love Christmas and I always have. It has always been one of my favorite times of the year. I love winter and for it to be the time of Christmas that makes it even better. I like the feeling of being together and the joy.

College
I would like to go to college because I want to be successful and educated. I hope to get a doctrines degree and the tools I will need in order to be strong in my career. I want to go to college to either be a physical therapist or a dermatologist. I think the most important characteristics are distance, sports, majors, and tuition. I think for athletes it is important to not just look at sports but if the college offers the major they are interested in. I will my coaches and parents inputs on college, because I know they want what is best for me and they know more about college than I do. College will help me get to the success I want, it will create opportunities because in today's society you need an education to get the better jobs.

Be A Good Sport!
I chose a job in retail as a cashier. I feel like this is one of the best jobs to start with as a teen. I found a job with Dick's sporting goods. I think this would be a really good job for me because I love sports, so I could probably help people. I think this would be a fun job for me even more so because I'm a teenager. I think this job would be appropriate for me because I would actually enjoy my job. Being an athlete working in a store for athletes would be a great opportunity. Also, I think it wouldn't be as demanding as somewhere like Wal-mart or Target. This could work for other students I think in preparation for the interview I would edit my resume and include more of the athletic activities. I think that finding a job that is age appropriate is harder for a teenager because a lot of the job openings are for adults or college students.
I found my job at

Homeless to Harvard
My favorite part of the movie was when Liz was at the school very late trying to finish work. Not many people have the drive that she had. She went through a struggle that most kids couldn't imagine, yet she overcame it. I feel like if I had the resources I needed I wold have been just as resilient as Liz was. But, if I had the opportunity to go to go like she did I would have gone. I understand she felt she had to watch her mother and take care of her but even when she taken from her mother she still didn't go to school. But ultimately her drive and motivation helped her reach her goals. I think the movie was a great example that you can do anything if you have the right mindset.

Budget!!!
When doing this budget I was not surprised with anything on it be I have an older sister who is in college and these are all the things she has to budget for. I expected living off campus to be expensive but I would have a roommate which would take bring some of the expenses down. I knew that college is very expensive because my parents are paying for it, not for just one but two children. College isn't cheap at all even with financial aid, because you still have books. I realized that when I go to college it would probably be better if i just stayed on campus because that eliminates food, bills, and other expenses. I have started looking for scholarships and figuring out whether I should or should not have a roommate.

Dr. Barnett
I would like to become a physical therapist. This requires a doctrines degree which is why I titled my blog Dr. Barnett. I like the idea of being a physical therapy because I get to be the one to help people recover and get back to normal. I would love to be able to send a professional athlete back onto the field, court, track or whatever it may be. I would like to be able to make a difference in peoples lives. even though it is just helping someone to recover it could mean the world to them. Some people may think that they will never be the same and I would have the opportunity to change their mindset. I could be the person to show them that just because they hit a bump doesn't mean they can't get back on track.

Is That Stress?
My score on the stress test was 10 out of 24. The results said that this mean that I have my life in good control but that I have to work on the bad habits and that choices I make that could cause stress. There are many things that stress me out the biggest being college. It is very hard to be in college, play sports, be a high school student, and still have a teenage and it can be very stressful. Another thing that stresses me out is people who constantly do the unnecessary. Sometimes it makes it harder to focus on my academics which leads to stress. But I am learning to just ignore it and not entertain it, just kill it with kindness. The way I deal with the stress of college is I take one day to just relax and enjoy doing nothing at all and then I resume work immediately. I also listen to music and sleep and try to be as lazy as possible on this relax day.

Organize Your Life!
I currently use a planner and I use my Ipad's reminder list. I set specific dates and times for certain things, but there are times when I do forget. Those are the times where I typically need to remember. I try not to forget things but it happens. One of my biggest battles is procrastination because I am always busy so when I finally get a chance to relax I want to have time to be on social media and just chill. But because I am a student that means NO PASS NO PLAY. I have to pass and I don't set low standards for myself so I strive for A's and B's in my classes. This is why I have to constantly battle procrastination because I can't afford to be lazy. Procrastination can hurt your grades and those who need you, especially when you play a team sport. When you play sports and you are an asset to the team no being able to play is one of the worst things for you and the team because they need you. That is why you don't have room for procrastination because it can hurt you. The way I fight procrastination is I do things throughout the day so that when I get home my work load is very minimal not to much and not to hectic. Also, I do my work from hardest to easiest and when I get stuck or frustrated I take a break and do the easy work. It helps avoid not getting work done and calming down so that I cant think straight.

Ally!
Hello,
I am Alaydrain Barnett but I like to be called Ally and I am concurrent/ dual credit student. This means that I am working towards my degree separately from high school all together and taking college classes during high school. I attend cedar valley community college as a concurrent student and I am working towards an associates degree of science. I am also a dual credit student at Navarro community college through Life School. I am still a concurrent student and in a few weeks I plan on doing a mini-mester. I would really like to graduate high school with my degree but if not then at least pretty close to it. Even though I am already a college student there is still plenty of use for this class.
This class is going to help me understand what it takes to get into the university mindset. I think that it will also help me to know what steps I need to take to make end meets in the finance department of things. I already know from my older sister that my parent incomes are to much for me to qualify for financial aid. So if I want to go to a university I am going to need a lot of scholarship money. I think that this class will teach me how to apply for a university college and even scholarships. That is the most important thing for me.
